The Admissions Team is here to guide you through the school admissions process.
We live in an ever-changing world, and here in Dubai we are used to families coming and going throughout the year. It is our role to assist you with any queries you may have, and help you decide whether Hartland International School is the best school for your child/children.
Our school attracts children from across the city of Dubai and from every corner of the world making us a truly international school.
The major intake of students is at the beginning of the academic year, but we can admit children throughout the year, depending on availability of spaces in year groups. Please get in touch at any time by email, by phone or through our Enquiry Form.
We have gathered the most frequently asked questions to make the admission process as smooth as possible and we look forward to meeting your family.
Hartland International School, a premium British School providing an enriched education through the National Curriculum for England. A through school from FS1 to Year 13.
We follow an August to July calendar. If you come from a country that has a different calendar, this may mean that your child might need to repeat half a year. For all students, the year level placement is determined by the students age until Year 2 and by the transfer certificate from the previous school from Year 3 and above, in accordance with KHDA regulations. If you come from a school in Dubai you will be placed as per the year group mentioned in the Transfer Certificate. The school asks students to undertake an entry assessment that will give the academic team a good indication of which year level would best suit every applicant.
The school has over 109 nationalities.
In the overall school, we have a student to teaching staff ratio of 11:1:
The Ministry of Education requires that all students must submit a Transfer Certificate (TC) before they start school. What is a Transfer Certificate?

We do understand that some documents take time to be issued or attested, however, the below documents must be submitted to school admissions at the time of enrollment for your child to be able to start school:
Please note that as per the KHDA regulations, students are not allowed to attend the school unless the above requirements are met.
Starting a new school can be a difficult experience for a child. Here at Hartland we have the buddy system. A current student is assigned to a new student to help them understand the day to day life in the school. In addition, our team of teachers are confident and experienced in transitioning students and we will always ensure that we go above and beyond to help every child find their confidence in the early days.
The school website contains general information about school. All families have access to The Parent Portal through our management information system, iSAMS. This is our main channel of communication and letters and links are uploaded to the portal weekly. Communication is via email generally, guiding you to the iSAMS portal and as a vehicle of urgent communications. Parents are also invited to join a class WhatsApp group. You will receive regular Newsletters and in lower Primary we use an App called Seesaw whilst Microsoft Teams is also used across the whole school.
